Media Arts at Stratford –

Stories Shine with Excellence

Stratford’s Journalism and Yearbook programs immerse students in broadcast, written, and visual storytelling, building strong skills in research, writing, editing, design, collaboration, and communication across platforms. Through producing The Gazebo and the Overlook yearbook, students chronicle campus life, meet real deadlines, develop leadership and professionalism, and create award-winning publications that reflect the spirit of the school community.

Journalism/Gazebo

At Stratford, The Gazebo keeps students informed and embodies the spirit of our community. Our tagline, “We’ve Got Stratford Covered,” reflects a program that equips high school journalists—both broadcast and written—with essential skills in research, writing, and multi-platform communication.

Yearbook

Upper School students shape the Overlook yearbook, documenting the defining moments of our community while developing skills in photography, reporting, and graphic design. Through the program, they earn honors like Quill and Scroll induction and Georgia Scholastic Press Association awards, graduating with the professionalism, communication, and creative vision for success at top-tier colleges.

Through the (journalism) class I learned how to interview all students and teachers across campus, what types of questions to ask, and that Journalism was what I wanted to pursue at Auburn.

The Gazebo Studio

The Gazebo Studio is housed in the northwest wing of the Olson Library. The centerpiece is the former anchor desk for WMAZ-TV, which was donated in November 2018. Stratford’s journalism program has become a vibrant addition to the Olson Library. Classes meet daily in the classroom/teaching lab, with access to library resources, making it a true communications hub for the school.
