Arrivals and Dismissals
School begins at 8:20 a.m. every day. Please make every effort to drop children off early enough that they are in their classrooms, unpacked, settled, and ready to learn at 8:20 a.m. They can arrive as early as 8:00 a.m.

The safety of the children during arrival and dismissal is of primary importance. Thank you in advance for following all of these guidelines each and every day. They have been created for the safety of the students, faculty members, and you!

Please DO NOT use your cell phone while in the carpool line, especially once it starts moving!

All vehicles used for carpools should have a seat belt available for each child's use.

Coaches direct morning carpool drop-off. Please utilize the drop off lane whenever possible.

In the morning if it is necessary to park and walk children into the building, please park in marked parking spaces in front of the PS building or by the field house/weight room. PLEASE DO NOT park on the curb in the carpool lane in front of the Fine Arts building, the Grady, or the Preschool building.

Please pull forward out of the carpool line to one of the parking spaces if it is necessary for the driver to exit the vehicle in order to buckle the children into seats. Please do not stop in the curve immediately past the loading area. This is helpful to keep the carpool line moving.

Please move baby seats to the driver's side of the vehicle so that preschool children can be unloaded and loaded on the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver should not have to get out of the vehicle while we are loading or unloading the child.

If a child is not going home in his/her regular carpool, the child should bring a note to the teacher explaining the temporary arrangements. The regular carpool driver should be notified also of the change of plans.

If there is any question about the identity of a driver, the child will not be released until parents are notified.
