Stratford Academy Stratford Family, I hope this email finds each of you enjoying the start of a well earned summer break! It was great to see so many of your smiling faces at the textbook/device drop off. As much as this pandemic has changed our lives over the past few months, I hope some normalcy can be found throughout the upcoming summer. I know that several of you have reached out expressing your anxiety about next school year and whether students will be allowed back on campus. Several weeks ago, I established a Re-Entry Task Force composed of administrators, board members, faculty and local health officials to develop a safe, comprehensive plan for our return to campus. In the absence of any government mandates, we are fully preparing to welcome students back to our beautiful campus on August 19. We're aware that our "new normal" of enhanced sanitation and social distancing will most likely be in place for the foreseeable future. Please know that our Re-Entry Task Force is hard at work and has been charged with focusing on three major areas in our planning: the health and safety of our community, the educational experience of our students, and the financial health of our school. While the future may appear uncertain at times, let me reinforce to you that Stratford's future is not uncertain. We will continue to be the premier independent school in Middle Georgia in the same capacity that we have been for the past 60 years. Schools across the state of Georgia continue to reach out to Stratford for counsel, and I was honored to have been asked to co-chair the GISA (Georgia Independent School Association) Campus Reopening Team that advises Governor's Kemp office on independent school affairs and issues. Because of this, we have access to the most reliable and up-to-date information that is available. Several of you know that I call myself the "bus driver" and our school "the bus." As such, regardless of where our current route is taking us, rest assured that we have been planning for weeks in preparation for every turn, obstacle, and bump along the way. We will periodically send communications over the summer as our plans begin to take shape and come more into focus, and we are currently building a website hub to house our plans that are created by the Re-Entry Task Force. That link will be emailed to you when it's available. Until then, try to find some rest and relaxation! When Caitlyn and I count our many blessings, the Stratford Academy community is at the top of the list. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
