What is NOT included in tuition?

Arts, Theatre, and Band are supported by the Booster Club. Select fees for costumes or sports/club uniform items may be applied.
Camp Eagle, ASAP, and Eagle Explorations are optional and will be billed separately.
Competitive clubs may have additional fees.
National and international clubs and association dues.
School uniforms are purchased through third-party suppliers.
Learning Support Center (LSC) services such as the comprehensive program and one–on–one tutoring are not included in tuition.

To fulfill this commitment, Stratford offers a range of need-based tuition assistance for eligible families.

How is my award determined?

Stratford utilizes a third-party organization called FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment to determine financial eligibility. Once you have applied for admission, you may apply for Tuition Assistance through FACTS. A tuition statement and a copy of the most recent 1040 form will be required for processing. Assets, income, and size of family are taken into consideration by FACTS, who will evaluate completed applications and provide Stratford with a report of calculated need.

Stratford’s Tuition Assistance Committee will review the FACTS report alongside the student’s overall academic and disciplinary record. The committee will determine an award, not to exceed the calculated need reported by FACTS.

Scholarship Opportunities

In addition to Stratford Academy’s need-based tuition assistance program, families may also qualify for external scholarship opportunities that help offset the cost of tuition. While tuition assistance is awarded by Stratford based on demonstrated financial need through the FACTS application, scholarships are funded through state-supported programs.

Eligible students must:

Be entering Kindergarten–12th grade
Be a rising kindergartener or have attended a Georgia public school for two consecutive semesters
Live in a public school attendance zone ranked in the bottom 25% by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement
Have a parent or guardian who has lived in Georgia for at least one year (with exceptions for active-duty military)

What is Georgia GOAL?

Georgia GOAL (Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc.) is a nonprofit, student scholarship organization that provides tuition assistance for K–12 students to attend participating private schools in Georgia. Scholarships are funded through Georgia’s Education Expense Credit, which allows taxpayers to redirect their state tax dollars to support student scholarships.

Stratford accepts payments through state-sponsored 529 Plans, which offer tax-advantaged savings, account owner control, and long-term flexibility. These plans can help families thoughtfully plan for educational expenses while maximizing savings and supporting their child’s academic journey.

529 Plan Information

What is a 529 plan?

A 529 plan is a federally authorized investment account designed to help families save for education. Earnings can grow tax-free when used for qualified education costs. Funds can be used for college and eligible K–12 expenses, including tuition, fees, books, and technology. Each state offers its own 529 plans with varying benefits, but funds can be used nationwide.

How can it help my family?

The 2018 tax reform expanded 529 plans to include K–12 education expenses. This means 529 funds can be applied toward Stratford tuition. Even partial use can ease tuition costs and provide added financial flexibility during challenging times, offering families more resources to support an independent school education.

If you already have a 529 plan in place, you can begin applying those funds toward your Stratford education right away. If you do not have a 529 plan in place yet, it is a great time to begin and benefit your child(ren) now and in the future.
