Georgia Promise Scholarship

What is the Georgia Promise scholarship?

The Georgia Promise Scholarship is an education choice program that will provide eligible students with the opportunity to use public funds for private education expenses in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.

  • Can I use Georgia Promise Scholarship funds towards my Stratford Academy tuition?
    • Yes! Georgia Promise Scholarship funds may be used to pay 2025-2026 tuition.
       
  • How do I know if I am eligible for a Georgia Promise Scholarship?
    • Your/your child(ren) must: 
      • Be entering Kindergarten or,
      • Be entering first through 12th grades after completing the last two semesters in a Georgia public school attendance zone on the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement’s list (see the full list here) and, 
      • Be a Georgia resident for at least one year with the exception of active-duty military. 
      • While there is no income requirement for this scholarship, priority will be given to students whose family income is less than 400% of the federal poverty level.
         
  • How much will I receive from the Georgia Promise Scholarship?
    • There are currently no set standards to identify amounts awarded.
    • For the first year of the program, the 2025 – 2026 academic year, the scholarship amount is set by law at a maximum of $6,500. The Georgia Education Savings Authority may withhold up to 5 percent of the scholarship proceeds for administrative purposes.  
  • How do I apply for The Georgia Promise Scholarship?
    • Submit your application on the Georgia Promise Scholarship website between March 1st and April 15th, 2025 on their website here.
    • You must select Stratford Academy as your school of choice on your application.

  • What should I expect after I apply?
    • Parents will be notified of student participation following the completion of the student application window in early 2025.
    • The initial funding of approved student accounts will be on or after July 1, 2025.
    • The Georgia Education Savings Authority is developing an online platform for families to apply for and make payments to eligible providers and vendors from an individual student’s Georgia Promise Scholarship account.
    • One you receive an initial scholarship, you will receive priority consideration over new applicants to the program in subsequent years.
       
  • Does a Georgia Promise Scholarship guarantee enrollment at Stratford Academy?

  • Can I receive additional tuition assistance if I receive the Georgia Promise Scholarship
    • Your are still eligible for tuition assistance if you qualify through FACTS. To learn more about Stratford's Tuition Assistance Program, click here
       
  • Can I receive a Georgia Promise Scholarship, while also receiving a Georgia GOAL award?
    • No. Both are state funded awards and you are only eligible to receive one.
