Rooted in Family, Shaped by Stratford: Sam Raffield ’68

When Sam Raffield looks back on his time at Stratford, he does so with a deep appreciation for the role the school played in shaping the next chapter of his life.

A proud member of the Class of 1968, Sam credits Stratford with helping prepare him for college and beyond. After graduation, he attended Georgia Tech, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in General Management in 1972.

By the time Sam finished at Georgia Tech, his parents’ family business, Raffield Tire Master, was growing quickly. What began as his mom and dad’s business soon became part of Sam’s own story as well. He returned home, joined the company, and helped carry forward the work his family had started.

Today, Sam serves as CEO of Raffield Tire Master, continuing a legacy that remains rooted in family. One of the great blessings of his career, he says, is the opportunity to work alongside his sister, who serves as Partner and Company Secretary, two nephews who serve as CFO and COO, and his son, who serves as Director of Operations.

For Sam, the story is about more than business. It is about family, preparation, hard work, and gratitude — values that have stayed with him from his days at Stratford through his years of leadership at Raffield Tire Master.

Stratford is proud to celebrate Sam Raffield ’68 and the meaningful legacy he continues to build in our community.
