Position Overview
The Band Director leads and develops a vibrant and engaging band program for Middle and Upper School students that fosters musicianship, school spirit, performance excellence, collaboration, and student growth. The Band Director is responsible for directing all aspects of the marching band program, concert ensembles, pep band performances, and classroom instruction while serving as a visible and positive presence within the school community.
The Band Director works closely with students, faculty, families, administrators, and the athletic department to cultivate a program that supports both artistic excellence and meaningful student experiences.
Key Responsibilities: Band Program Leadership
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Middle and Upper School band program
- Lead the marching band program, including rehearsals, performances, competitions, and game-day preparation
- Organize and conduct performances for football games, basketball games, pep rallies, assemblies, concerts, and special school events
- Prepare students for marching band competitions and festivals while promoting excellence, teamwork, and school spirit
- Develop and maintain a culture of enthusiasm, accountability, collaboration, and pride within the band program
- Coordinate concert performances and additional public performances throughout the school year
- Support recruitment and retention efforts for the band program across Middle and Upper School divisions
Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Student Development
- Teach Middle School and Upper School band and music classes
- Create engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons that foster musical growth and appreciation
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varying skill levels and needs of student musicians
- Provide students with consistent feedback and encouragement to support both musical and personal growth
- Build strong relationships with students while fostering confidence, leadership, discipline, and collaboration
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students and families regarding expectations, performances, rehearsals, and student progress
Key Responsibilities: Operations & Program Management
- Coordinate band schedules, rehearsals, travel logistics, performances, and equipment needs
- Maintain inventory and care of instruments, uniforms, music, and band equipment
- Collaborate with the athletic department and school administration regarding game schedules and event planning
- Assist in budgeting and long-term planning for the growth and sustainability of the band program
- Ensure all performances, rehearsals, and travel experiences are organized, safe, and well supervised
- Attend faculty meetings and participate fully in the life of the school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Music Education or a related field preferred
- Experience directing band programs, including marching band experience preferred
- Strong conducting, instructional, and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the broader school community
- Enthusiasm for fostering school spirit and student engagement through music
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, schedules, and events effectively
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to supporting the mission and culture of the school
- Proficiency with music technology, Google Suite, and organizational systems preferred

Stratford Academy’s Little Eagles Early Learning, located on the campus of Stratford Academy in Macon, GA, is seeking nurturing and flexible Substitute Early Learning Teachers to support classrooms for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years.
Substitutes will help maintain routines, ensure a safe and caring environment, and support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of our youngest learners. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and can adapt to different classroom settings with ease.
Key Responsibilities:

Office Summary
The Office of Advancement is responsible for cultivating and sustaining relationships that support philanthropic giving to Stratford Academy. Advancement initiatives include annual giving, donor stewardship, constituent relations, special events, and institutional reporting in partnership with school leadership and the Business Office.

Position Summary
The Advancement Services and Donor Relations Specialist plays a central operational and technical role within the Office of Advancement. This position oversees the accurate processing, recording, management, and reporting of all gifts and constituent information, ensuring full compliance with IRS regulations, nonprofit best practices, and institutional policies.
Reporting to the Head of Advancement, the Specialist serves as the primary administrator of the school’s advancement database and provides high‑level reporting, stewardship, and audit support. This role requires exceptional discretion, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to the ethical handling of confidential donor, financial, and institutional information. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and accountability while maintaining the highest standards of data accuracy, confidentiality, and donor trust.
Database Management & Reporting
- Manage and oversee Stratford Academy’s advancement database of more than 15,000 constituent records, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data integrity
- Establish, document, and implement best practices for gift entry, data management, reporting, and system procedures
- Perform advanced database queries and generate reports using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge to support strategic advancement initiatives
- Produce weekly donor stewardship and performance reports for the Head of Advancement and Head of School
- Oversee monthly and annual advancement reporting in coordination with the Head of Finance
- Maintain organized digital and hard‑copy donor records
- Serve as liaison for the Office of Advancement during the annual financial and accounting audit process
- Drive continuous improvement and efficient use of advancement database systems
Gift Processing, Acknowledgment & Compliance
- Oversee accurate recording, receipting, depositing, and processing of all gifts in compliance with IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations
- Manage donor acknowledgments and tax documentation in a timely and professional manner
- Serve as a primary point of contact for donor inquiries related to gift processing and records
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of donor and financial information at all times
Donor Relations, Mailings & Special Projects
- Manage and execute mailings related to donor relations, stewardship, special events, and tax documentation
- Support advancement events and special initiatives in collaboration with the Advancement team
- Manage operational needs for the Office of Advancement, including stationery, collateral materials, and postage accounts
- Participate in occasional travel for training and professional development
General Responsibilities
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct
- Collaborate effectively with members of the Advancement Office, Business Office, and broader Stratford community
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Head of Advancement
Requirements
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of gift processing and donor stewardship policies, including IRS regulations governing charitable contributions
- Experience with advancement database administration and reporting; working knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or demonstrated ability to learn systems quickly
- Willingness and ability to serve as a high‑level administrator of the advancement database to support strategic and operational effectiveness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
