Eagle Baseball Greats Inducted into the Macon Sports Hall of Fame . . .

Stratford
Academy is proud to announce that two of our former Eagle coaches joined the Macon Sports Hall of Fame on April 28, 2008. Coach Bubber
Adams and Coach Bobby Brown were both instrumental in the early
development of Stratford Athletics.
Coach Adams was
Stratford's baseball coach for 33 years. During his time with the Eagle
baseball team, he had a 543-158 record with nine state championships
and was state runner-up four times. He was also selected by his peers
as GISA Coach of the Year seven times. Thirty-six of his players
received college scholarships while six players were drafted by major
league organizations. Coach Adams continues to serve Stratford as
Director of Alumni Affairs. Upon his retirement as Stratford baseball
coach in 2001, the Stratford baseball complex was named in his honor.
Coach
Brown began Stratford's football program in 1970 and remained the head
coach until 1976. The first three years of the new Eagle
football program saw Coach Brown earn three state championships and only one loss. His
overall record was 59-9-1. Coach Brown coached Coach Adams during his
high school days at Lanier. Coach Brown is retired and enjoys watching
his grandchildren play sports here in Macon.
