The Stratford Middle School Boys Baseball Team did not finish the season with the record that they were hoping for, but Coach Chance Reynolds explained that they had a successful season nonetheless. A huge part of middle school athletics is skill development, and Coach Reynolds believes that each player on the team developed their game in some way this season. One moment that showed how much the team has improved came during the middle school tournament when the Eagles battled against the number one seed in the tournament coming up short at the end of the game. Along with the team as a whole, there were several individuals who made great improvements to their game this season. The team’s ace pitcher, Hall Buice, came a long way and pitched a number of great games. Other players who upped their game this year include John Thomas Carter, Will Baxley, and Will Deal. The Eagles will miss the standout eighth grade class next year, but they certainly have a host of returning players who will be capable of leading the team.
